When the occupational therapist of a kindergartner suggested essential items to help ease an autistic child’s anxiety about starting school—such as noise-canceling headphones, a weighted vest, and a sensory swing—the family, who was already juggling the demands of work and home, sought assistance from us.
Unfortunately, these crucial tools were not covered by their insurance, yet they were key to helping the child thrive in a new school environment. Recognizing the significance of these recommendations, our compassionate Board sprang into action, ensuring that these vital products were quickly ordered and delivered. Together, we stand as a community, supporting families in need, because no child should face the challenges of school alone.
