Referred by Communities in Schools, working parents of two asked for help obtaining a refurbished Chromebook for their high school student who had fallen behind in studies during the worst of the pandemic school closures. A computer for home use would help the child study after school to improve test scores and allow the child to graduate in the spring. Although our friends at the Cigar Lions Club provide refurbished desktop computers, the Board felt a laptop would be more beneficial for the child to use at school, in the library, and at home.
