Single, working mother of one reached out for help. Her three-year-old child had suffered from chronic bilateral ear infections since birth. The pediatrician urgently recommended ear tube placement as it was felt current symptoms could be contributing to the child’s quality of hearing, auditory sensitivities and impaired speech and sensory processing. Mom needed help with the copayment for the surgeon’s fees as well as the surgical facility. With letters supporting her request from the primary care physician, our Board approved her request.
