On a beautiful fall evening as the sun set on the Sparks Marina, For Kids Foundation’s organization welcomed invited guests to our Donor Appreciation Celebration (DAC) at Sparks Water Bar. Our guests were wowed with beautiful displays of savory and sweet bites and tantalizing beverages.
We came together to celebrate the Mission of For Kids Foundation (funding the urgent, unmet needs of Northern Nevada children since 2003) and to honor the generous people who help us carry out that mission like Bareknuckle Branding, Aguavawava, GratisGives, Fit Learning, Acme Title and Escrow, Front Office Staff, Branding by Beth, The Emerson, Goosehead Insurance, Half-a-Dime Mortgage, and Compass, to name a few.
During the evening, we met Sydney Allison, undergraduate at University of Nevada, Reno, as she shared her needs-based assessment project which will demonstrate to our donors why we need their support. We were presented with a $1,000 giant check from Stefphon Jefferson and Luis Rosales, owners of Aguavawava (proceeds from their recent GSR People’s Choice Award winnings). Mom of one of the children we have helped, Jomailyn Benson, shared her family’s story and expressed gratitude for the Foundation’s support.
Awards were given to past Board member Margaret Ciorciari for 16 years of dedicated service, Rena Zatica at Front Office Staff for years of support and in-kind virtual receptionist, and Bill West at Bareknuckle Branding for being one of our STAR community supporters.
Special thanks go to Alexa Martin (photographer and daughter of Fabby Franco, Board member), the For Kids Foundation Board members on the DAC Planning Committee, and to Sparks Water Bar, who worked together to create a memorable evening for our guests.
We are looking forward to where 2023 will take us, specifically the children whose lives we will forever change and the people who will help us make that possible.
