Two siblings suffering from grief, anxiety, depression and multiple behavioral issues following the loss of a parent were referred to us by the children’s talk therapist. The therapist recommended Equine-Assisted Therapy as an adjunct to talk therapy. Working with Nevada Equine-Assisted Therapy (NEAT) in Washoe Valley for more than 12 years, our Board understands the benefits derived from their program. NEAT says, “Once they understand how to ask for and receive cooperation from the horse, their self-esteem goes sky-high. The result? A shy, withdrawn, fearful child may stand tall and confident as he or she leads a 1,200-pound animal through an obstacle course of twists, turns, and stops.” The Board approved 12 sessions for each child
