The social worker of a family contacted us for help paying for equine assisted therapy. With parents separated and going through a divorce amid the COVID chaos, the child was exhibiting behavioral issues at home and at school. The child’s therapist felt equine assisted therapy could provide a COVID-safe activity for the child to learn to deal with emotions during this most difficult time. Nevada Equine Assisted Therapy not only works with the child; they offer the family parenting skills and insights into a child’s behavior. As this form of therapy has proven very successful, we have developed a scholarship fund and were able to assist this child.
